NIP
The scheme is intended to provide temporary financial relief to unemployed graduates and also to keep them engaged in acquiring additional knowledge and real work experience. The ultimate objective is to enhance marketability of unemployed educated youth for a better professional future.
National Internship Programme (NIP) was conceived, designed and initiated by M.S Wing, Establishment Division during the financial year 2006-2007. The Programme was transferred to Ministry of Youth Affairs in January 2009 and it was transferred back to Establishment Division after devolution of Ministry of Youth Affairs in December, 2010.
The provincial component of NIP was discontinued w.e.f. 01-07-2011 and federal component was transferred from Establishment Division to Ministry of Education, Trainings and Standards in Higher Education vide Cabinet Division Notification dated 28-7-2011. In pursuance of Cabinet Division’s Memorandum No. 4-4-2014-Min-I, dated 30th September, 2014, National Internship Program (NIP) has been transferred from the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training to Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination, Islamabad.
